The "We"...

You may have noticed that the itineraries for the Great Event Tours often use the word "we" when presenting the next leg of the tour.  Who is "we"?

Every Great Event Tour in 2003 is chaperoned and escorted by Carsten Ramcke, a train aficionado fluent in German and English, who also has a working knowledge of French.

Carsten spent his sophomore year in college at the University of Bonn, and has returned to Germany every year since.  He has been an avid model railroader for nearly thirty years and has visited the Modellbahntreff and the Modellbahnmesse several times.  Many have purchased his amateur European train videos, while others have enjoyed his trip diaries and other writings on the Marklin Mailing List (email) and the Marklin Bar & Grill (email).

Carsten has previously taken railroad fans through Bavaria and to the 2001 Modellbahnmesse (model train exhibition).  His trips have received rave reviews for their careful planning, attention to detail, and exciting events and outings.  For your GREAT EVENT, Carsten will be available 24 hours a day during your tour to help with any issues, big or small. 

The purpose of vacation is to relax.  Carsten and the rest of the Great Event Tours staff plan to help you do just that!
