The Great Lakes Chapter

of

European Train Enthusiasts

Welcome to the Web presence of the Great Lakes Chapter of ETEGL!

On these pages you will find news, pictures and events from our club.  First, a bit of background on the organization:

The ETE was formed in 1973 for all who shared an interest in the trains of Europe.  The club has grown to hundreds of members across the globe.  In December 1998, a pair of ETE members in Michigan founded the Great Lakes Chapter of ETE, which received its official charter in July of 1999.  Now in its fourth year, the ETEGL sports nearly two-dozen members, who involve themselves in various aspects of European trains, both model and prototype.

The ETEGL hosts meetings on a semi-regular basis, usually once every two months.  We also publish a newsletter on a quarterly basis.  In addition to internal appreciation of European trains, the group has also built and displayed a modular layout featuring European scenery and rolling stock.  Check the ETEGL NEWS page to find out when our next layout presentation will be.
